Orlando has a long list of museums, gardens and cultural attractions. Here are a select few that offer designated free entry days. Although admission is free, donations are always appreciated. These special days are always subject to change, so check with the venue before visiting.
Free Museum Days in Orlando:
Museums On Us Program
The first weekend of every month, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch customers can visit museums free through the bank’s Museums On Us program. Just show your Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card Saturday or Sunday and you’ll get free admission to these Orlando museums:
- Orlando Museum of Art
- Mennello Museum of American Art
- Orange County Regional History Center
- Orlando Science Center
Smithsonian Museum Day Live!
This annual event falls in September and offers free admission to museums all over the country. Museums near Orlando that usually participate include:
- Lyonia Environmental Center, Deltona
- Goldenrod Historical Museum
- Bradlee-McIntyre House Museum, Longwood
- Orange County Regional History Center
- Orlando Museum of Art
- The Oviedo Preservation Project
- Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens
Entry is free for everyone during the first Monday of each month from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (available on select Mondays, excluding holidays). Bring your little ones for Orange County Library’s storytelling program. The gardens celebrate moms and dads with free admission on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art
Open house are scheduled on Independence Day, Easter weekend, Holiday weekend, and Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival weekend. The museum also opens its doors during Friday Nights at the Morse November through April from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Casa Feliz
Casa Feliz in Winter Park opens its doors for Music at the Casa on Sunday afternoons from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Come as you are for a casual event with live music and free tours of the historic house and James Gamble Rogers II Studio.
Mennello Museum of American Art
Every second Sunday of the month, Mennello Museum offers free admission to the galleries. Families can enjoy craft stations and mini-tours for kids from noon to 2:30 p.m. Museum hours are noon to 4:30 p.m.
Art & History Museums Maitland
Seniors (55+) receive free admission every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Cornell Fine Arts Museum
The museum offers an intimate and unique experience in Winter Park with more than 5,000 works ranging from antiquity to contemporary. And, it’s always free!
Orange County Regional History Center
This Orlando museum offers a free trick-or-treat event on Halloween. They also open the doors to moms on Mother’s Day and dads on Father’s Day.
Bok Tower Gardens
Admission is free on Easter morning for a special sunrise service and for moms on Mother’s Day.
