Florida’s tax-free event August 3-5

shoppingbagParents and students doing their back-to-school shopping receive a bit of break from the state of Florida.

Eligible purchases of school supplies, wallets, purses, shoes, backpacks, shirts and other apparel may be purchased without paying state taxes during the event.

The  tax-free event is August 3 to August 5.

The event applies to a variety of items for all shoppers in Florida, even if they’re not in school.

From among the types of eligible items, individual garments must be $75 or less.  School supplies must be $15 or less.
