Free KFC grilled chicken

| April 24, 2009

kentuckygrilled-thumbI think it’s safe to say that I’m the only South Florida blogger whose family actually used to eat at Colonel Sanders’ original restaurant in Corbin, Ky. My mother used to stop there on her way to college in the 1940s, and my aunt actually spent her wedding night in the Colonel’s motel behind the restaurant. They can’t, however, talk about the Colonel’s original chicken recipe because, in their time, people went to the restaurant for country ham.

Colonel Sanders died in 1981, but his restaurants live on. With an eye toward people who want a healthier diet, KFC has introduced a new Kentucky Grilled Chicken, and participating KFC restaurants are offering free samples Monday, April 27. One piece per customer.
